Carcinogenic substance found - Decathlon is recalling nutritional supplements

Decathlon is recalling five Aptonia brand products due to a carcinogenic substance.

These food supplements should no longer be taken.

Villeneuve d'Ascq - Sporting goods manufacturer and retailer Decathlon is forced to recall several products.

As part of safety and quality controls, the nutrition and care brand Aptonia team has determined that there is a potential safety risk.

Aptonia branded food supplements are affected by the recall.

Recall Decathlon: Warning against carcinogenic ethylene oxide

In the calcium carbonate used in the following five products, the ethylene oxide content is above the permitted limit.

Products purchased between June 19, 2021 and August 12, 2021 are affected.

According to the consumer advice center in Hamburg, ethylene oxide is carcinogenic and can lead to changes in the genetic make-up.
