(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 31 - Duran Duran have released "Anniversary", the new single from their fifteenth studio album, "Future Past", which will be released on October 22, 2021 (for TAPE MODERN / BMG). The band will be at the Arena di Verona, on August 31st, for "RTL 102.5 Power Hits Estate", and will present - as a preview - the new live single.

Anniversary was produced by the band, which this year celebrates 40 years in business, together with British DJ / producer, Erol Alkan.

"Anniversary is a special song for us. Of course we were aware of our upcoming 40 / o anniversary, but we wanted the song's meaning to be as inclusive as possible. After playing and working together for so long, we really appreciate the real. meaning 'togetherness'. It's not something we would have thought of doing 40 years ago, but we do today! It was also fun to build a track with nods to Duran's previous hits, kind of like the Easter egg hunt that fans will have fun finding it, ”said bassist and Duran Duran founding member John Taylor.

The group also recently announced two intimate shows in their hometown Birmingham, at the O2 Institute on 14 and 15 September 2021. The band will also play at the upcoming Global Citizen LIVE on 25 September.

For Future Past, the English quartet worked alongside British DJ / producer Erol Alkan and pioneer Italian composer / producer Giorgio Moroder. Additionally, Blur's Graham Coxon co-wrote and loaned his guitar to several tracks on the record, and former David Bowie pianist Mike Garson adds an exquisite sonic layer to "FALLING". The record also includes a collaboration with Mark Ronson who co-wrote and played on "WING", and was mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent. (HANDLE).
