2021-09-01T16:54:33.988Z

For the employers' organization, this measure would benefit companies that lack manpower and help increase purchasing power.

The Confederation of SMEs "

proposes to reactivate the abolition of employer charges on overtime

", on the eve of a meeting of its president François Asselin with Prime Minister Jean Castex.

Such a measure would, according to the CPME, "

reconcile both the need for companies 'workforce and the desire to see purchasing power progress

", according to a press release from the employers' organization.

An interview at Matignon scheduled for Thursday

Overtime had been exempt from employer contributions between 2007 and 2012, under the presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy.

This exemption was subsequently abolished, except for companies with less than 20 employees.

The CPME, which is delighted with "

the good overall economic outlook

", also believes that "

the increase in wages must remain the responsibility of each company within the framework of negotiations carried out by professional branches

".

François Asselin will be received Thursday at 7 p.m. by Jean Castex, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire and the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne, who receive from Wednesday to Friday the leaders of the main employers' and trade union federations for bilateral talks.

These interviews will allow Matignon to "

sweep the news

".

The reform of pensions, that of unemployment insurance as well as the creation of a "

commitment income

" for young people, the shortage of labor in certain branches or the application of the health pass in businesses are among the topics that should be discussed.
