The Government confirmed
4,653 new cases
and another
190 deaths
from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Thus, Argentina reached 5,195,601 infections and exceeds
112,195 deaths
from the pandemic.
Currently there are
198,988 patients
with the disease with diagnosis, of which
2,497 are in intensive care
.
The occupation of critical beds -for all pathologies- is
44.2%
nationwide and slightly higher in the AMBA (
46.7%
).
The data comes from the health part of this Thursday, published by the Ministry of Health based on the information provided by the provinces.
This week, always according to official reports, the daily average of covid-19 cases hit a
new floor
for this year:
5,124
-with the figures from August 26 until today-.
These numbers are far from the peak in May, when an average of 33,171 was reached, six times.
Argentina has detected almost 5.2 million cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

Despite this slowdown, Argentina remains the
8th
country with the highest number of positive cases detected since the start of the health crisis, behind the United States, India, Brazil, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Turkey.
And the
12th
among those with the most fatalities registered, according to the Worldomoters site.
The average number of deaths reported per day is
148
- also with data from August 25 to 31.
It remains well below the record of 603 recorded on June 11.

The vaccination plan
According to the latest official data, published in the Public Vaccination Monitor,
61.34%
of the national population started their immunization plan against the coronavirus.
This represents 84.9% of those over 18 years of age and a total of
28,100,621 doses
.
So far, just over half have also received the second application that completes the scheme: it concerns
15,121,308 people
(33.01% of the total and 46.3% of those over 18 years of age).
Six out of 10 people received at least one vaccination against the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, but only half completed their schedules.

When analyzing who already has full coverage, the elderly are the most reached: 81.1% of those over 70 years of age;
78.3% of people aged 60 or over, and 72.1% of people aged 50 and over, according to official data.
As of this morning, 48,148,449 serums had been distributed to the provinces, of which
6 million remain to be applied
.
The arrival of doses
After two flights arrived yesterday with shipments from Sinopharm, the country reached a total of
54,901,120 vaccines
against covid-19 received since the end of last year.
For this Friday, the arrival of
another batch with 570,000 sera
produced in China is expected.
Of the total doses that reached Argentina, those from Sinopharm are the ones with the largest volume:
20,606,000
.
The second with the largest presence is
AstraZeneca
, with a total of 15,594,200 distributed among 580,000 Covishields, 1,944,000 contributed by the Covax mechanism, 11,859,200 directly provided by the laboratory, 400,000 donated by Spain and 811,000 by Mexico.
Argentina received a total of 15 million Sputnik V vaccines since the start of the immunization plan.

In third place is the Russian Sputnik with
15,000,920 sera
: 10,955,260 of the first component (of which 1,179,625 were packaged in the Buenos Aires plant of the Richmond laboratory) and 4,045,660 of the second (702,500 of local formulation).
To this are added 200,000 from Cansino, and 3,500,000 from Moderna, donated by the US.
According to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Health,
the first 260,000
of the 580,000 Pfizer vaccines planned for September
will arrive in the next two weeks
.
These items will be used to complete heterologous schemes -that combine different brands- and to start the vaccination of 17-year-old adolescents without risk factors.
In addition, it is expected that between September 5 and 16, 400,000 single doses of CanSino will arrive to be applied to the population considered "difficult to access": homeless people, migrants, refugees and other dispersed populations.
