Cheesecake is not just cheesecake.

There are cake recipes with or without a base, Japanese cheesecake, peanut butter cheesecake, Black Forest cheesecake ... The selection is huge.

This Polish version is also delicious.

It consists of a crispy base, a creamy filling and a lid made of meringue.

Polish Cheesecake Recipe: The Ingredients

Ingredients for the floor:

  • 30 g of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 120 g butter

  • 250 g flour

  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

Ingredients for the topping:

  • 5 eggs

  • 1000 g quark (20% fat)

  • 600 g milk

  • 350 grams of sugar

  • 120 g sunflower oil

  • 2 packets of vanilla pudding powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

Polish cheesecake with meringue: how to bake the cake recipe

  • Grease the springform pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs if you like.

  • Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat.

  • Work all the ingredients for the base into a smooth dough and press it evenly into the mold.

  • Separate the eggs and refrigerate the egg whites.

  • Mix the egg yolks, quark, milk, 250 g sugar, oil and pudding powder with the hand mixer or in the food processor for one minute to a smooth mass.

    Pour the mass on the floor, do not be surprised: it is very thin.

  • Bake the cheesecake in the oven for 50 minutes.

  • In the meantime, pulverize the remaining 100 g sugar in the food processor into powdered sugar.

    (You can of course also use ready-made powdered sugar.)

  • About 10 minutes before the end of the baking time, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt and the icing sugar for about 5 minutes.

  • Take the cake out of the oven (be careful, the filling still looks quite runny) and carefully spread the egg whites on it.

    Then bake the cake in the oven for another 10 minutes.

  • Turn off the oven and let the cake cool completely in it.

  • After that, put the Polish cheesecake in the refrigerator overnight.
