The President of the Republic announced that 50 schools in the city will be chosen to serve as a "laboratory"

For two days in Marseille, President Emmanuel Macron spoke on Thursday from the Pharo Palace, to unveil his vast plan of support for the Phocaean city. Regarding education and school, the Head of State announced that he wanted to experiment with “the school of the future” in Marseille. In 50 “laboratory” schools, from the start of the 2022 school year, directors will have the freedom to choose the teachers for their establishment. The President of the Republic insisted on the fact that this free choice could make it possible to have teachers "fully motivated, who adhere to the project", and to develop a method "radically new for the education of our children".

To explain this "innovation", the president developed: "Parents tell me: in such and such a place the teachers no longer come, it happens because there are people who are tired of working too long in difficult neighborhoods". "We must allow our teachers to choose these neighborhoods and the educational projects that go with them, which is not the case today," he lamented.
