(ANSA) - ROME, 03 SEP - In the period 11-24 August 2021, the average transmissibility index Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 0.97 (range 0.92-1.01), close to the epidemic threshold and in slight decrease from the previous week when it reached the value of 1.01.
There is also a slight decrease in Rt based on hospitalized cases.
It emerges from the draft of the weekly monitoring at the examination of the control room and which will be illustrated today.
The weekly incidence at national level of Covid-19 cases is equal this week to 74 per 100,000 inhabitants (for the period 08/27 / 2021-02 / 09/2021) compared to the value of 77 per 100,000 inhabitants in the period 20-26 August 2021 and reporting on the values recorded in mid-August. The incidence remains above the weekly threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants which could allow control of transmission based on containment or on the identification of cases and the tracing of their contacts.
There are 17 - however - the Regions and Autonomous Provinces that this week are classified at moderate risk. It was 10 last week. The remaining 4 Regions are classified as low risk. Seven Regions and Autonomous Provinces report resilience alerts. The case of Sicily stands out, where the new cases of Covid-19 reported during the week are up to 9,771. Cases on the rise, in the weekly trend, also in Veneto: there are 4,217. (HANDLE).
