An army of aspiring mayors and city councilors. The lists of candidates who will compete in the administrative offices of 3 and 4 October for a place on the councils of the 1,160 municipalities to vote and of Calabria were delivered throughout Italy. In the main cities called to the polls - Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin and Bologna - civic competitors stand out, the well-known faces of sport and TV, but also some lists attributable to the no vax universe. For the role of mayor, 22 presented themselves in the capital and 13 in the Lombard capital, while for the elections in Calabria there are four eligible governors in the running. In the metropolitan area of Naples, Senator Sandro Ruotolo calls into question the parliamentary anti-mafia commission asking for "rigorous control" on the lists: "We receive numerous reports about the presence of well-known characters ... 'unpresentable' ".

In Rome

, where the lists presented are a total of 39, the re-nominated mayor Virginia Raggi ranks six. At his side, the former Miss Italy Nadia Bengala and the former Minister of Transport Alessandro Bianchi. With Roberto Gualtieri (7 lists) there is Ubaldo Righetti, champion of Italy with Liedholm's Roma in 1982/1983. The former footballer will find on the other side an old acquaintance of his: the historic Giallorossi midfielder Antonio Di Carlo, alongside Enrico Michetti (center-right). The 'tribuno' lawyer can also rely on the former Biancoceleste captain Angelo Gregucci and on the comedian Pippo Franco. As for Carlo Calenda, he focused on a single list headed by an entrepreneur.

In Milan

the mayor Beppe Sala, who has eight lists at his side and the former cycling champion Gianni Bugno, will have to contend with Luca Bernardo for the center-right and with the manager Layla Pavone for the 5 stars. Among the candidates also a no vax from the list of the 3V Movement. The leaders of the League is the president of Federfarma Lombardia Annarosa Racca, that of FdI is the journalist Vittorio Feltri.

In Naples,

an internal clash with the Brothers of Italy on the Italian lists literally ends in a barrel: shoves and heads. Sparks, in recent days also for the candidacy of Hugo Maradona, brother of the pibe de oro, with the former prosecutor Catello Maresca (center-right). Overall, in the Neapolitan capital there are seven confirmed mayoral candidates: in addition to Gaetano Manfredi (Pd and M5s) and Catello Maresca, there are Antonio Bassolino and Matteo Brambilla (dissidents 5s). There is also an aspiring mayor of the 3V movement, area no vax and no Green pass.

Nineteen lists presented

in Bologna

, in support of eight candidates. Matteo Lepore, supported by Pd and 5s, ranks, in addition to the sardine Mattia Santori, Patrick Zaki's teacher Rita Monticelli. The center-right opponent is Fabio Battistini. The candidate Andrea Tosatto is supported by 3V - Truth freedom.

In Turin there

are 30 lists in support of 13 mayoral candidates, including Stefano Lo Russo for the center-left, Paolo Damilano for the center-right and Valentina Sganga for the M5s. Among others, the 3V for vaccination freedom appears here too, while among the candidates for councilors in the center-left is the musician Max Casacci of Subsonica. In the smallest Italian municipality by population, Monterone in the province of Lecco, the only list considered valid for the elections was that of the Gay Party for LGBT + rights.

In the big cities, if the center-right is always united, the Giallorossi axis in the first round takes off only in Bologna and Naples (in the other realities it will eventually have to consolidate in the run-off phase). Pd and 5s run together in

Calabria

in support of Amalia Bruni who, however, is threatened by two other center-left candidates (Luigi de Magistris and the former governor of Mario Oliverio). The center-right, on the other hand, remains compact in support of Roberto Occhiuto.
