"We have already received around thirty proposals, including from people living in Strasbourg" rejoices Catherine Rapp, deputy at the LR town hall of Mulhouse in charge of "Nature in the city".
The Haut-Rhin city is already looking for the future Christmas tree which will take pride of place at Place des Victoires during the next Christmas market at the end of the year.
But to find the suitable conifer, the municipality has embarked on an original environmental approach.
“We refuse to cut a tree in an Alsatian forest,” explains the elected official.
Also, we call on Mulhouse residents who wish to get rid of a bulky tree in their garden to contact us.
Spruce, Nordmann, Pungens… all species are welcome!
Be careful, however, the "giant" must meet two essential criteria: be good and measure ... between 15 and 18 meters high.

After having studied the files, the agents of the “Nature en Ville” service will carry out a preselection after having gone to see more closely the various suitors.
"Once the tree has been chosen, we will ensure the felling and transport", promises Catherine Rapp.
The chosen tree will naturally find its place in the city center.
Applications are open until the end of the month at the email address

. Each file should be accompanied by several photos of the bulky conifer.
