(ANSA) - MEXICO CITY, 04 SEPT - A new migrant caravan, the fourth in the last few days, left today from the city of Tapachula, in the Mexican state of Chiapas on the border with Guatemala, headed for the United States. The newspaper Sol de México writes.
Like the previous ones, it is about 500 people of all ages coming mostly from Central America and Venezuela, Cuba and Haiti, determined to cross the entire Mexican territory to try to "touch the dream of a new life in the USA".
The journalists who follow the caravan claim that it is well organized, having a security service that during the journey is particularly concerned with protecting the women and children who are part of it.
Three previous migrant initiatives have been addressed starting from 28 August by agents of the National Institute of Migration and by men of the National Guard, who intervened very vigorously in the city of Mapastepec, dispersing and restoring the marchers. (ANSA).
