In the East Westphalian town of Bad Salzuflen (Lippe district), a 58-year-old man is said to have shot his mother and brother on Saturday evening.
The bodies of the 84-year-old woman and the 63-year-old man were found in a house in the Wülfer-Bexten district, the Detmold public prosecutor and the police in Bielefeld announced on Sunday.
The alleged gunman was arrested at the scene without resistance.
A firearm was seized.
The investigators now want to find out the background to the family drama.
The bodies of the two deceased were to be autopsied on Sunday.
The urgent suspect should be brought before a judge.
