Stowaway in the flower shop: A scorpion, apparently with fresh pistachio greens from Italy, has turned up in a shop in Düsseldorf.
When unpacking, the approximately five centimeter tall animal crawled out of the bush, the fire brigade announced on Monday.
The florists reacted quickly and carefully and packed the scorpion and the bush in a sack and locked it.
A reptile specialist from the fire brigade first examined the animal on site.
The scorpion is in good health and is "slightly to moderately poisonous," it said.
The fire brigade expert has taken the scorpion to guard for further care.
In the coming days it will be handed over to an animal park from there so that it can be cared for in a species-appropriate manner.
