In Dortmund, a police officer shot an armed 17-year-old in the arm during an operation.
According to witness statements, the man is said to have fired several shots before, as the Dortmund public prosecutor and the police announced on Monday.
Accordingly, the police discovered the suspect the day before at a subway stop with a gun in hand.
Even after repeated requests, he did not drop the weapon.
No life-threatening injuries
Finally, the 17-year-old raised the gun and pointed it at the police officers, who then fired a total of three warning shots.
The suspect ran away and aimed again at the officers.
A police officer then shot him in the arm.
The 17-year-old was reportedly taken to hospital, but was not critically injured.
According to previous knowledge, the murder weapon was a blank gun.
The investigation was carried out by the police in Recklinghausen.
Admission of the 17-year-old to a psychiatric facility is being examined.
