In a 1965 interview, on the set of
Pierrot le Fou
, Jean-Paul Belmondo evokes his private life with the spontaneity and naturalness that his partner, Anna Karina, appreciated in him.
Outside of filming, he explains, he finds his wife, his children and his friends.
His wife, at the time, was the dancer Élodie Constant, whom he married in 1959. They were already parents of Patricia, born in 1954 (who died tragically in a fire in 1993).
They will have two more children, Florence, born in 1960, and Paul in 1963.
"Isn't Élodie jealous to see him film with the most beautiful actresses?"
asks the reporter.
"But she is very, very beautiful too!"
, responds Bébel gallantly.
Of course, sometimes she does scenes with him,
"but if she didn't, that would be worrying."
If she wasn't jealous, it's because she wouldn't love me
