(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 07 - "If there is no foreign policy, we can do nothing about defense policy".
This was stated by Emma Bonino speaking in the Senate chamber in the debate on the information given by the foreign and defense ministers on the situation in Afghanistan.
Bonino invites us to go "very slow on the recognition of the Talibans, who have achieved a result because they have gone from being unpresentable cutthroats to being people with whom one should talk". "Dialogue is fine - added the parliamentarian of + Europe - but legitimizing is another thing but I fear that it will be difficult to maintain this position because it is evident that Russia, China, Turkey and some arable countries will recognize. Please hold this position and support the establishment in Geneva of an independent monitoring commission so that our exit does not mean only disengagement ". (HANDLE).
