two spices are currently being recalled.
The company "Global Food Trading GmbH", based in Biebesheim (Groß-Gerau district *), has issued warnings to this effect.
The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety, among others, provides information on this.
The spices are contaminated, which poses a risk to the health of consumers.
Spice Recall: These products are affected
On the one hand, a ginger powder is being recalled.
According to the manufacturer, the value of "ethylene oxide" in the product was significantly exceeded.
It is a pesticide that is banned in the European Union.

In addition, “fenugreek leaves” from the same manufacturer are currently being recalled: The pesticide chlorpyrifos was found in the product, as the warning says.
This insecticide is also banned in the European Union - for good reason: The agent is used against pests in agriculture and can cause massive damage to nerves and genes in children.
The “fenugreek leaves”, however, come from India, where the remedy is still approved.
