Chiara, many internal traumas, the cause of death not resolved

The 4-hour autopsy on Chiara Ugolini's body did not allow to determine the exact cause of the young woman's death, for the murder of which Emanuele Impellizzeri, her neighbor, is under arrest.

This is what ANSA learns from sources close to the investigation.

The autopsy examination found several internal traumas, to the nape, chest, abdomen, a sign of a violent struggle with the attacker, but no injury that alone explains the cause of death.

Finally, the extent of the damage caused by the bleach, placed on the rag used by the killer, which Chiara was forced to ingest, should be investigated.

The investigating judge of Florence Angela Fantechi has meanwhile validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure in prison for Impellizzeri who availed himself of the right not to answer.

At the moment the man is in the Sollicciano prison (Florence).

The investigating judge has also declared himself incompetent for the territory and will therefore send the documents to the court of Verona where another investigating judge will decide whether or not to confirm the Florentine provision.

Impellizzeri is accused of having committed the murder with the aggravating circumstances of having acted with cruelty and for abject reasons.

Based on what is reported in the order of the investigating judge Angela Fantechi, the extent of custody in prison was necessary due to the danger of escape, due to the gravity of the disputed fact and taking into account the personality of the suspect.

"My client made use of the right not to answer not because he doesn't want to shirk his responsibilities, but because he is still in shock about what happened". Thus Mattia Guidato, the defender of Emanuele Impellizzeri, accused of the murder of Chiara Ugolini in Calmasino di Bardolino (Verona). "Impellizzeri is still upset - added the lawyer - but in the next few days he will speak with the judge, he is willing to collaborate".
