"The Blue Pearl": The sea promenade will be inaugurated that will connect to Caesarea

The village of Jisr a-Zarqa has recently been renewed with a hundreds of meters long promenade with seating areas, walking paths and bicycles and lawns.

In the last fishing village in Israel, we now hope to connect to the promenade that will be built in Caesarea and deepen the neighborhoods between the settlements.

The village of Jisr a-Zarqa, the last fishing village in Israel, has been renewed on the promenade called the "Blue Pearl" (a-Zarqa in Arabic is the "blue water" that flows in the Crocodile River - Wadi a-Zarqa).

The length of the promenade is expected to be about 900 meters - from the Wilhelm II Bridge and the estuary of Nahal Taninim in the north of the village to the end of Jisr's declared bathing beach - but currently only its first section of the Wilhelm Bridge, which was recently renovated but has not yet been officially inaugurated.

The head of the Jisr a-Zarqa council, Sheikh Murad Amash, told Walla!

Tourism, "We started renovating the Wilhelm Bridge and now we have asked the Open Spaces Foundation to build the promenade. A sum of NIS 750,000 has been approved, but the estimate for the entire promenade will exceed NIS 6 million, so we asked the Caesarea Development Company and the Nature and Parks Authority to support the project."

Those who also supported the project are the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and the Open Land Foundation of the Israel Lands Administration.

According to Amash, the planning was done by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, and the Caesarea Development Company made a donation of NIS 1.5 million.

Currently, out of 900 planned meters of promenade, about 650 meters have been paved that include benches, lawn, shading, lighting, walking path, bike path, accessible observation posts and a unique handmade mosaic wall of the village women.

The village hopes that the promenade will be completed and will also be connected to the promenade that will be built in Caesarea.

"We are trying to raise more budgets and complete the promenade to Caesarea," says Amash, "and we hope that Caesarea will also build a promenade so that we can connect, so that all tourists who come to Caesarea can reach Jisr and the Carmel coast. We always dreamed of using our rare natural resources and landscape "To leverage and promote the community, and to raise the standard of living of its residents. And indeed it happens. Thanks to the combination of hands and regional cooperation, we built the new sea promenade together, an important pillar in the lives of Jisr residents and guests."

The head of the village: "If we have money, we will install cameras"

According to the promenade's plan, there will be a connection between the cliff, the fishing village and the promenade that is supposed to connect to the declared bathing beach of Jisr, while from Caesarea the promenade is supposed to connect from the aqueduct beach.

Boardwalk inauguration ceremony held last week, was attended by Sheikh Murad Amash mayor of Jisr al-Zarqa, Michael Kersenti CDC CEO, Alex Riitzis engineer Foundation for the Preservation of open spaces and Fayez Hanna, Haifa District Commissioner of the Ministry of Interior.

Amash: "If we have money in the future, we will install cameras on the promenade and if the Ministry of the Interior approves inspectors, we will be sent to the inspectors promenade. In terms of information, we have not yet reached this in the village. "

Who do you think will be the audience that will enjoy the promenade?

" We were chosen for a community that promotes health, and the Ministry of Health recognized us as a healthy place

Information is needed to maintain the promenade.

"One of the most beautiful beaches in Israel"

"I congratulate the residents of Jisr a-Zarqa and the head of the council, Sheikh Murad Amash, on the special project," said Mickey Kliger, acting chairman of the Edmond Benjamin de Rothschild Foundation.

"We hope that the government ministries and the various authorities will harness like us and the Foundation for the Preservation of Open Spaces to upgrade the quality of life of Jisr residents and the tourist development in the village.

Caesarea Development Company CEO Michael Crescenti noted: "We are proud that Jisr residents, our neighbors, now have a spectacular beach promenade that will allow both them and visitors to the village to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel, and will be a tourist and economic landscape for the entire village."
