According to the city, at least 26 people were infected with the corona virus during a party on September 3 in a club in downtown Münster.
Entry to the party took place, as the city writes in a press release, "according to the current state of affairs in stricter 2G regulations, that is: all guests were vaccinated or recovered according to their own information."
The visitors, mainly in their mid-twenties, became attentive due to mainly mild symptoms and a message from the Corona warning app.
How many people are affected in total is still unclear.
"We are preparing the situation," said a spokesman when asked.
The city of Münster also learned of the infections on Thursday, six days after the celebration.
The exact number of contact persons is still unclear
Further infections are very likely.
The follow-up by the health department is in full swing, numerous contacts have to submit a PCR confirmation test.
The exact number of closer contacts is still unclear.
How many visitors were in the club near the train station during the night is currently not known, according to information on the website that can accommodate up to 500 people.
In Münster, according to the city's spokesman, it is up to the catering establishments whether they use the 2G rule or the 3G rule for their visitors.
How the club checked the 2G rule it had set up is currently not known.
The Westphalian city of Münster has come through the corona pandemic relatively well, the incidence figures have often been well below the national average.
The local crisis team leader Wolfgang Heuer is quoted as saying: "The present series of infections once again confirms the enormous importance of vaccinations, on the other hand it also becomes clear here that one should not be careless, especially with close contacts in closed rooms."
