Mr Beer from the Kirchner School in Frankfurt am Main was probably amazed: On his 51st birthday, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier personally congratulated him with a letter.
One of his students had organized a special letter of congratulations for him for his birthday.
The nine-year-old Celio simply wrote to the president and presented his request to him.
The Office of the Federal President published a video on Facebook that shows the two of them in conversation.
"I wanted my teacher to have something very special because it is the last birthday we celebrate before we start secondary school," says the nine-year-old elementary school student.
The Federal President complied with the request and congratulated Celio's class teacher with an official letter on his 51st birthday.
Celio says in the video that the class also celebrated the teacher's birthday: "Last year we even put an inflatable cake on his head."
Steinmeier, for his part, used the letter for general praise: "I would also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of the many other teachers in the country for your work," who stood up for their students in their jobs during the pandemic, it says in writing.
