The storm of rain and wind that affects the Buenos Aires coastal towns of Mar del Plata, Miramar, Pinamar, Villa Gesell, Necochea and Santa Clara del Mar since Wednesday, caused roof blasting, falling trees and palisades, power cuts and

classes suspended at all educational levels

.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) maintains for the next few hours a

yellow alert for intense rains and strong winds

with gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, which are expected to decrease towards the afternoon or night in Mar del Plata (General Pueyrredón) , Miramar (General Alvarado), Pinamar, Villa Gesell and Santa Clara del Mar (Mar Chiquita).

From the Civil Defense of Mar del Plata, Rodrigo Goncálvez reported this Thursday: "So far there have been

20 roof blasts, 40 fallen trees

, 40 palisades and power outages in some sectors of neighborhoods such as Alfar, Alto Camet, Zacagnini, San Patricio, Autodromo; Villa Primera, Punta Mogotes, North Lighthouse ".

Also, the municipal official recommended to the neighbors 

"avoid leaving their houses." 

"We need there to be as little traffic as possible on the streets to avoid any type of accident," he said.

The municipality of Mar del Plata reported in the morning that it resolved to maintain the

suspension of classes

at all levels to stop the afternoon shift, due to the meteorological alert that governs General Pueyrredón.

The Empresa Distribuidora de Energía Atlántica (Edea) reported that there are several crews working to

try to restore the electricity service interrupted

in the last hours as a result of the windstorm that affects the district.

Something similar is experienced at this time in the towns of Pinamar, Cariló, Ostende, Valeria del Mar, Villa Gesell, Mar de las Pampas and Mar Azul, where Civil Defense reported that as a result of the windstorm, roof blasting was recorded;

fall of trees, branches and

utility

poles that generated

a specific power outage

.

In these localities, as in Necochea and Miramar, classes are also suspended in the morning shift, according to those municipalities.
