The Walt Disney Group wants to show the films that are still premiering this year exclusively in the cinema.
Only then should they be available as a stream, the company announced on Friday.
Among other things, it is about the Marvel film "Eternals" and Steven Spielberg's version of "West Side Story".
During the corona pandemic, the company had experimentally released some films simultaneously on its own streaming platform Disney + and in the cinema.
Now the cinema should have priority again.
The animated musical »Encanto« will run for 30 days in cinemas from November 24th and will then also be shown on Disney + shortly before Christmas.
All other films will be shown exclusively in theaters for at least 45 days, according to the company.
The actress Scarlett Johannson recently sued Walt Disney for several million dollars because the streaming strategy had reduced her agreed theatrical share in the film "Black Widow".
