The Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, evaluated the health situation that the City is going through after it was confirmed that there are at least three cases of the Delta variant of coronavirus in the ORT school in Belgrano.
"It is clear that we have community circulation of the Delta variant in the City of Buenos Aires, in Córdoba, and some cases in the province of Buenos Aires as well; what we are seeing at the ORT School in Belgrano
is an outbreak, an institutional outbreak

The authorities of the ORT school, Belgrano headquarters, reported that the 43 positive cases occurred at the primary level and that the bubbles are isolated from the confirmation of the results.
So far, five cases of Delta variant infections had been reported in the City with no connection with travelers.
The Delta strain is
the most contagious of the variants of the coronavirus
and for it the Government increased the restrictions on entering the country, leaving thousands of Argentines stranded in different cities around the world.
Since it was first identified in India, the spread of the Delta variant -also known as B.1.617.2- has so accelerated its contagion in the world that by
mid-August it had already been detected in at least 136 countries
.
On May 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) designated it as a variant of international concern due to its greater transmissibility.
According to the evidence observed in India and other regions, among the symptoms it can cause are, behind those mentioned in the study by Tim Spector, stomach pain, vomiting, joint pain, loss of appetite and hearing.
Before the confirmation of the cases at the ORT school, the Government had confirmed that there were 311 cases detected, 28 without travel contact, while the rest have contact with import-related cases.
