Covid-19 in France: 47 new deaths, another 10,000 people hospitalized

2021-09-11T18:11:06.588Z

The improvement of the situation in hospitals continues. The vaccine campaign, it is in slow motion as the 50 million Fr.

On this ninth consecutive Saturday demonstration against the health pass and vaccination, the coronavirus epidemic continued its slow decline.

The improvement continues in French hospitals which are gradually emptying.

All indicators are back to green after an epidemic peak, boosted by the Delta variant and slowed (in part) by vaccination, recorded at the end of August.

It is still too early to know a possible effect of the re-entry on the epidemic.

According to the latest data from Public Health France (SPF), 10,018 people are still hospitalized in France (against 10,654 a week ago), with 322 new entries recorded in the last 24 hours (424 last Saturday).

Yesterday, there were 10,115 patients in hospitals, whether in conventional hospitalization, follow-up and rehabilitation care (SRH) and critical care.

The epidemic indicators are in sharp decline (new positive cases, hospitalizations, admissions to critical care, etc.) ... except, for the moment, hospital deaths: 92 reported each day on average, over a period of "plateau" for 10 days.

In these services which receive the most serious cases, 91 new admissions are recorded in 24 hours, 135 yesterday and 124 a week ago.

In total, 2,131 patients are followed in critical care (resuscitation, continuous monitoring and intensive care) in France.

Sign of this slow decline in hospital pressure, they were 2,223 a week ago.

Vaccine: less than 9 million eligible French people have received no dose

Unfortunately, every day dozens of French people continue to lose their fight against Covid-19.

Thus, 47 deaths have still been reported by hospitals in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 115,489 recorded victims.

Last Saturday, 85 deaths were notified.

Data that it is however good to take with caution because not all hospitals return all of their figures on weekends.

• 73.2% of residents have received at least 1 dose and 68.6% are fully vaccinated

• 85% of eligible residents have received at least 1 dose and 79.7% are fully vaccinated

• 86.8% of adult residents have received at least 1 dose and 82.3% are fully vaccinated # Covid19 pic.twitter.com/VybzrTu40Y

The epidemic trend is, however, downward, as evidenced by the number of new positive cases detected every day.

This Saturday, they were 9,601 against 13,336 a week ago.

There is thus a decrease, on average over the past week, of 27%.

Presented this Saturday by the American health authorities, a new study shows that fully vaccinated people are 11 times less likely to die from Covid-19 and 10 times less likely to be hospitalized since the contagious Delta variant became the strain main virus in the United States.

At the same time, 80,528 French people have received their first vaccine injection in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 49,620,948 people over 12 who have received at least one dose. There are now less than 9 million people eligible for vaccination who have yet to receive any dose.
