For almost two decades, the "Tribute in light" has become the symbol that honors the victims killed in the attacks that hit the Twin Towers. The beams of light reach up to 6.5 km into the sky and consist of eighty-eight 7,000 watt xenon bulbs positioned in two 15 m squares, echoing the shape and orientation of the towers binoculars. The facility can also be viewed within a 100 km radius of Lower Manhattan.
