(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 12 - The Taliban have formally hoisted their banner on the presidential palace in Kabul, with a ceremony that sanctions "the official start of the government", reports a spokesman quoted by the Guardian.
The flag, white with a verse from the Koran, already placed on the palace on the day of the conquest of the capital, was hoisted by the prime minister, Mullah Mohammad HassanAkhund, spokesman Ahmadullah Muttaqi said.
