After a weekend with the lowest infection figures in 15 months, the Government confirmed this Monday
2,297 new cases
and another
239 deaths
from coronavirus in Argentina.
In this way, the country exceeds 5.2 million infected and 113 thousand deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The data were published by the Ministry of Health this afternoon, in the health report prepared based on the information provided by the provinces.
With the infections registered this Monday, the
total number of infected
since the beginning of the pandemic reaches
5,226,831
, of which 34,600 are active patients.
The new update of deaths raises to
113,640
the number of
dead covid.
According to the latest daily report, there are
1,829 serious patients
with coronavirus admitted to intensive care units.
The occupancy rate of these units, for all pathologies, is 41.3% nationwide and 42.8% in the AMBA.
For the fifth consecutive day, no information was released on the number of tests carried out.
Official sources attribute it to a system problem that still could not be solved.
The detail, province by province
The Province of Buenos Aires was the
district with the most cases of coronavirus
in this Monday's report: 675 on the day and 2,048,764 since the start of the pandemic.
Tucumán and Córdoba were the other two jurisdictions that exceeded 200 infections (265 - 200,632 and 250 - 513,648, respectively).
The
City of Buenos Aires (199 - 510,283), Entre Ríos (101 - 135,548) and Río Negro (100 - 99,494)
also registered
more than 100 infected
.
The other provinces with
more than 50 cases
were Mendoza (87 - 164,011), Santa Fe (82 - 467,818), Catamarca (73 - 50,171), Chaco (65 - 99,773), Corrientes (58 - 90,764) and Chubut (57 - 82,191 ).

On Sunday, 930 positive cases had been reported throughout the country, the lowest figure for a day since June 2020. This number - reported in the middle of election day - could not be compared with the number of tests since due to a problem system was not informed.
The vaccination plan continues and this Monday began the distribution of 1.4 million vaccines against Covid.
