On the bike from Hungary to Scandinavia: At the German-Danish border, federal police officers had to deal with a Libyan who had apparently clearly strayed from the path.
As the officials announced on Monday, they took over the 25-year-old from Danish colleagues on Saturday at the Ellund border crossing near Flensburg.
These had stopped the man because he was on the highway.
The man did not have an ID with him, so the police initially took him to the police station to establish his identity.
According to the Federal Police, it turned out there that he came from Hungary and actually wanted to visit a friend in Italy by bike.
Apparently he "got lost" because he had neither a map nor a mobile phone to search for a route.
As the officials in Flensburg announced, the man had been on the road for four days.
He received a criminal complaint for unauthorized entry into Germany and was also asked to report to the responsible state office for immigration and refugees.
The officers then took him to the train station.
