In front of their horrified customers, including numerous children, ice cream sellers in Wuppertal had a violent fight in which five men were injured.
Immediately at the entrance to the zoo, the opponents in the ice cream shop attacked each other with iron bars and chains, said a police spokesman on Monday.
The incident took place last Saturday between the operators of two ice cream trucks and several men belonging to the opponents, according to a statement from the police.
Background unclear - those involved too seriously injured
Possibly it was about the best place for the ice cream truck at the zoo, but that is not certain yet.
The 22, 27, 53, 54 and 58-year-old participants were too seriously injured to be questioned.
They should all have been treated in the hospital.
A sixth participant is fleeting.
