The flu vaccination campaign starts in less than a month, like last year due to the pandemic.
The Determination of the Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa) has been published in the Official Gazette which authorizes the update, for the 2021-2022 season, of the composition of influenza vaccines authorized according to the national registration procedure, of mutual recognition and decentralized.
Pharmacies will also take part in the vaccination campaign this year
, as foreseen by an amendment to Legislative Decree 105 of July, already approved in the Chamber and currently in the Senate. According to the provision, the pharmacists, who have already followed the training course of the Higher Institute of Health for the anti-Covid vaccine, will therefore also extend their activity to the immunizer against influenza. They will be able to inoculate the drug to people aged 18 and over. The service, explains Federfarma, will also concern those who are entitled to the free vaccine: fragile and in the age group from 60 onwards. Refunds will come from the regions.
