"For technical reasons, automatic top-ups that were set up before September 1, 2021 are unfortunately no longer valid from now on," writes Telekom there.

Cell phones and smartphones whose prepaid credit was previously topped up automatically without the user having to take any action are therefore empty.

As the IT platform "Heise.de" reports, the problem is due to a change in the billing platform.

This was previously operated by an external service provider, but Telekom is now doing it itself.

The tab “Top up prepaid card” can be found on the customer center page.

There is a selection field that can be used to set up the automatic top-up again.

The credit is then topped up every time it is necessary.

Mobile phone users who have previously topped up their account manually can also use this selection field to switch.
