Known for his solo on

Gabrielle

, harmonica player Greg Zlap was also announced by the production.

He held, via a press release on Monday, to deny his presence and explained his reasons for his absence during this televised tribute:

“My friends,

Contrary to what is announced on the concert ticket office and in the media, my presence at the homage to Johnny Hallyday evening on September 14 has never been confirmed.

To be honest, the production called me on Wednesday, less than 7 days before the date. My proposal to play

Gabrielle's

solo

in the spirit of Johnny's latest shows was rejected, so I was forced to decline the invitation.

Johnny had a vision for the stage, the show and the energy he wanted to share with the audience. During the 282 concerts where I had the chance to accompany her, my intervention on Gabrielle had become a landmark in the show, for Johnny as for me, but also for his audience. It was a magical moment, out of time, eternal.

Paying tribute to him on stage means for me to stay true to his vision, even if his absence is unbearable. This is what I do at each of my concerts, this is what I would have liked to do for the evening of September 14 at Bercy.

I miss him terribly, I'll be thinking of you all on Tuesday. ”

Two other notable absentees will be in everyone's mind, David Hallyday and Laura Smet. The daughter of Johnny Hallyday and Nathalie Baye is not on good terms with her stepmother Laeticia Hallyday who is at the origin of this evening. Johnny and Sylvie Vartan's son is also at odds with the singer's widow who would have liked him to sing at Bercy

Sang pour sang

, a title he wrote for his father. But David Hallyday declined the invitation because, according to his lawyer, Pierre-Jean Douvier, he is rehearsing for his concerts which begin in October. Advice which specifies that the eldest son of the rocker did not ask for any stamp

"to come to the tribute"

.

"All this is pure invention and the objective is to make it dirty, no one can be fooled",

adds the lawyer.

Who concludes:

“It would be wise to devote oneself exclusively to the memory of Johnny and that the sisters of David and Laura are not systematically involved in public statements.

Only the facts count: David pays homage to his father, including at each of his concerts. "
