The Vuelta di Spagna 2022 cycling will begin in Utrecht, the Netherlands: the land of mills will also host the first three stages of next year's Spanish stage race. The Vuelta had planned to leave from the Netherlands also last year 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic forced the organizers to cancel the stops abroad, including those scheduled in France and Portugal.
Next year's Vuelta will be held between August 19th and September 11th - postponing a bit compared to the edition that ended Sunday September 5th with the third consecutive victory of the Slovenian Primoz Roglic - and will start with a team time trial on the streets of Utrecht. On 21 August the third and final Dutch stage, with departure and arrival in Breda.
