An 81-year-old was found dead in a retirement home in Zwickau, Saxony.
Her granddaughter confessed to strangling and killing the woman in an argument.
The 31-year-old had fully confessed on Monday at an appointment with a judge in front of the district court in Zwickau, said a spokesman for the public prosecutor in the afternoon.
Accordingly, the woman stated that she had previously looked after her grandmother.
At the time of the offense, there was a "verbal argument", as a result of which she strangled the elderly woman.
"According to her testimony, she didn't want to kill her grandmother," said the spokesman.
Woman at large
The judge has therefore issued an arrest warrant for bodily harm resulting in negligent death.
The execution of the arrest warrant has been suspended - the woman is therefore at large, as the public prosecutor's spokesman confirmed: “There is no evidence that the woman could escape.
She has a permanent address, has shown herself in full confession and now has to report to the police regularly. "
The granddaughter surrendered to the police on Sunday, as the Zwickau police department announced on Monday.
The police did not provide any further information about the time of death or the course of the crime.
