(ANSA) - BEIJING, 15 SEPTEMBER - The MeToo movement marks an abruscan setback in China.

Haidian District Court in Beijing rejected a sexual harassment lawsuit against one of the country's most famous CCTV television hosts, Zhu Jun, for lack of evidence.

ZhouXiaoxuan, known by the online nickname of Xianzi, had recounted the harassment suffered by Zhu in an essay that immediately went viral on social media in 2018, in which she explained that in 2014, while engaged in an internship at CCTV, the conductor had kicked and kissed her with force.

The case had helped enliven the MeToo movement in China.
