Hospital tension is gradually falling in France. There are now 1,959 patients in critical care throughout the territory.

Hospital epidemic monitoring indicators continue to improve in France.

This Wednesday, the health authorities again report a slight drop in the total number of hospitalizations and Covid-19 patients treated in critical care services.

With 452 admissions in 24 hours, 9,555 people are currently hospitalized for infection with SARS-CoV-2 or its variants, against 9,739 on Tuesday and 10,438 a week earlier.

During this fourth wave, the peak reached 11,245 hospitalized patients on August 30.

Among the patients followed in hospital, less than 2,000 people - 1,959 to be precise - are now cared for on Wednesday in critical care services (resuscitation, continuous monitoring and intensive care), against 2,000 on Tuesday and 2,224 on Wednesday latest.

A symbolic threshold.

In addition, 119 new admissions recorded in the last 24 hours, against 137 Tuesday, 18 less than the day before.

Santé Publique France also reports the death of 79 people as a result of Covid-19 in 24 hours, against 94 the day before.

These data bring the total toll to 115,831 dead in France since the start of the epidemic.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 49,849,575 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 73.9% of the total population) and 47,104,178 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 69.9% of the total population).
