(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 15 - There are 117 Municipalities that have expressed, within the deadline, their interest in adopting the contributions provided for by the Fund of 2 million euros to create alternative locations to school buildings to be allocated to polling stations, in order to avoid the suspension of educational activities, on the occasion of this year's elections. In total, 510 polling stations are involved, with the involvement of about 300,000 voters and over 30,000 students. The Interior Ministry makes it known.
In most cases, municipal gyms, multipurpose structures and disused municipal offices have been identified as alternative locations.
The contributions will be effectively disbursed, as established by current legislation, following the attestation of the transfer of seats by the interested Municipalities, to which the competent Prefectures have already communicated the amounts of the contributions assigned to them. (HANDLE).
