Instagram wouldn't be good for teenagers.

To say it is an internal search by Facebook, the company that owns the platform, leaked on the Wall Street Journal.

In particular, according to internal research, one in three young users develop perception disorders of their body, while others believe that the platform causes them distress and an increase in depressive tendencies.

The Wall Street Journal got the results of research conducted by Facebook from 2019 onwards.

"32% of teenage girls said that when they felt bad about their body, Instagram made them feel worse," the researchers reported.

According to the Journal, executives looked at the research that was cited in a presentation also made last year to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

However, Facebook has reportedly struggled to handle the problem.

In recent months, the company's desire to create a version of Instagram for 'under 13' has also been leaked.

In an official post, Instagram's head of public policy Karina Newton explained that the company is looking for ways to drive users away from certain types of posts and content.

"We are cautiously optimistic - he writes - that these suggestions will help direct people to content that elevates more and will shift the focus so far focused on the appearance of people."
