The choice of clothes can have an impact on how applicants arrive at the interview.
Job seekers should avoid certain colors as much as possible.
Do you prefer a jacket or a casual shirt? The choice of clothes before the interview is always a headache for applicants, after all, everyone wants to make a good impression on their potential employer. A study by the American application
portal Resume.io
also shows that worries about the “wrong” outfit are not entirely unfounded
. Accordingly, applicants apparently worsen their job chances if they wear clothes in certain colors.
For the study, 2,786 applicants were asked about the predominant color of their outfits, which they wore at the last interview.
The decisive factor was the color that was most noticeable, i.e. usually that of the
blazer, shirt or blouse.
The study authors compared the result with the success of the job interview.
Indeed, certain colors seem to have a negative impact on applicants' job opportunities.

Which colors are well received in the job interview
The absolute success factor, on the other hand, seems to be an application outfit in
blue
.
Around 81 percent of the candidates who wore outerwear in this color were also accepted.
Job candidates in elegant
black
did similarly well
(69 percent).
These two colors are often recommended by application experts anyway because they look classic and elegant.
Dark blue and black in particular exude authority, which is why these colors are ideal for managers.
But even an extravagant color like
purple
(72 percent) surprisingly counts among the “winners” of the study.
According to
Glamour.de
, people associate this color with properties such as creativity, individuality and spirituality.
According to experts, however, purple should only be used discreetly, for example as a colorful accessory.
