A four-month-old baby died and six people were injured this Wednesday at dawn in a multiple collision between three vehicles, which overturned on the road and the shoulder, on Route 2 at the height of the Buenos Aires district of Chascomús.
The accident
occurred after 3.30 at kilometer 96 of highway 2
, on the side that goes towards the Atlantic Coast, between Samborombón and Chascomús, where a van, a mini bus and a truck collided.
Shortly after, personnel from the highway, the Buenos Aires police and the Same province attended the scene and assisted the wounded, who were transferred to the Chascomús hospital, although the driver of the truck - which was transporting beers - had to be rescued from among the irons.
"The semi-trailer truck was overturned on the shoulder and the Journey truck was also overturned but on the other side of the shoulder. Also a minibus-type bus," José Luis Balzato, Chascomús Fire Chief, explained to TN.
On the causes of the accident, he said that "I didn't even understand it (the crash) the way the vehicles were."
He also noted that "visibility was good, only when arriving at the place there was a small fog".
He also said that the truck driver "was the one we worked with the most because he was tight in a strange way."
In that sense, he said that they had to make "enough cuts" in the structure of the truck to rescue it.
"He was conscious the whole time," he detailed.
As explained by the sources,
the traffic in the area has been cut off
from the moment of the accident and a diversion is made by contra lane from Km 96 to 97.
Now, road safety personnel from the Aubasa company are waiting for the experts to be able to remove the vehicles and clear the route, the sources added.
