The low storage space is one of the weak points of the PlayStation 5. The new system software update now enables the use of an internal SSD.
Some beta testers have already been able to use the memory expansion - now the feature is made available to all PS5 users.

After the installation, PS5 owners can add an additional SSD to their console and thus receive additional storage space for games or apps.
The advantage over an external storage medium is that games can be played directly from the internal SSD, so that no files have to be moved.
