At the lowest point of the COVID-19 contagion curve since the first wave, the Government confirmed this Thursday
2,493 new cases
and another
135 deaths
from coronavirus in Argentina.
Thus, the country reaches 5,234,851 detected infections and 114,101 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
These figures come from the health report published this afternoon by the Ministry of Health, based on information provided by the provinces.
In recent weeks the curve of coronavirus infections in the country fell sharply.

There are currently
33,630 patients
taking covid-19 pictures throughout the country, of which
1,614 are admitted to intensive care
.
The occupation of critical beds -for all pathologies- is
40.9%
nationwide and
43.4%
in the AMBA.
The country has been going through the lowest point of the contagion curve since mid-2020. According to data from the 7 days prior to today's part -from September 9 to 15-, the average
fell to 2,388 infected per day
.
This represents an abrupt monthly drop of
74%
;
and
92%
compared to the peak in May, when it reached 33,171.
Despite this slowdown, Argentina ranks
9th
among the countries with the highest number of positive cases detected throughout the pandemic.
Meanwhile, it ranks
13th
among those with the most fatalities registered, according to the Worldometers site.
As for the daily average of deaths, it is

-with the data of the last week- and remains well below the record of 603 registered on June 11.

The cases of the day
Due to technical problems, the Ministry of Health did not report how many tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
It is the
eighth consecutive day
that this data has not been published.
The absence of this figure makes it impossible to calculate the positivity rate for the day: that is, how many people swabbed had the virus.
Following the line of the last days, no province exceeded a thousand infections in the last day.

vaccines among the 580,000 from Covishield, the 1,944,000 received by the Covax mechanism, 12,389,500 provided directly by the laboratory, 400,000 donated by Spain and 811,000 by Mexico.
According to official data, more than 60 million vaccines arrived in the country and 40% of the population received the two doses that complete the scheme.
