In a strike against suspected drug traffickers in Berlin, customs confiscated nearly one hundred kilograms of narcotics with a street sales value of more than four million euros.
The action was directed against suspects from the area of organized crime who are said to have traded in various drugs on a large scale, said customs.
Three suspects, aged 40 to 61, were arrested.
Largest single crystal find in Berlin and Brandenburg
During the raid on Tuesday, the investigators of the Berlin customs investigation office found, among other things, almost 30 kilograms of cocaine, around 47 kilograms of ecstasy and 18 kilograms of the drug crystal meth. It was the largest single crystal find in Berlin and Brandenburg to date.
The suspicion against the alleged dealer network had arisen from other proceedings.
The investigations into these cases provided evidence that the suspects who had now been caught smuggled in drugs on a large scale from the Netherlands and Poland and operated a sales and distribution network in Berlin in a conspiratorial manner.
According to customs, they set up drug stores in apartments that they had rented under false names for this purpose.
Special forces arrested two of the accused when leaving such an apartment in the Charlottenburg district.
The drugs were found in various locations and in cars as part of the raid.
A total of around a hundred officers were on duty.
