We like the idea of a two-year World Cup.
This was revealed by a survey carried out last July against FIFA on a sample of 15,000 respondents who express interest in the ball and the World Cup, a slice of a larger audience that involved 23,000 people in 23 countries.
The results of this online survey will in turn be used as part of a consultation process involving over 100,000 people in more than 100 countries.
Based on the first results, it is clear that most fans would like to see a more frequent men's World Cup, preferably every two years; whereas there are significant differences between the so-called traditional markets and the developing football markets; young people in all regions are more open and interested in change than older ones.
