Spears said she deleted the account to celebrate her engagement and responded with a reassuring message to fans: "Hey everyone! I'm taking a little break from social media to celebrate my engagements. I'll be back soon!".

However, people close to the singer told TMZ that the real reason for the sudden deletion is a hearing that Spears has in court in about two weeks, regarding her father's guardianship saga.
