Johann Zarco, suffering from compartment syndrome, will undergo surgery on his right forearm next Wednesday.
This was revealed by the French rider of the Ducati-Pramac team before the San Marino Grand Prix.
"I will be operated on in Aix - explained Zarco in Misano - I had a good feeling with Dr. (Olivier) Dufour who has already operated on Fabio (Quartararo) and who has a lot of experience in this field".
Zarco will not miss any races and will be present in Austin (United States) a week after the operation (1-3) October for the 15th round of the World Championship. "On Monday and Tuesday I was able to take some time to confirm this diagnosis of compartment syndrome in my right arm. Hence the decision to take the opportunity to operate as soon as I return from Misano," he added. In early May Quartararo was operated for the second time after that of 2019, for compartment syndrome. An intervention that Jack Miller, Iker Lecuona and Aleix Espargaro also faced this season.
