The narco shadow appears behind the death of a Mbya couple run over on National Route 12 by a truck that did not stop its march.

The hypothesis on which the Justice of Misiones has been working for a month led to the arrest of the occupants of the car that was guarding the transport and then they were in charge of rescuing the driver, who abandoned the cargo vehicle on a secondary road.

A detailed analysis of the security cameras installed on Route 12, in the northern part of the province, made it possible to establish the route made by the truck and the Chevrolet Astra that the Police found hidden this Tuesday in an air conditioning repair shop in the city of Montecarlo, 180 kilometers from Posadas.

The investigation was triggered at dusk on Thursday, August 12, when the Police were alerted to two motorcyclists who had been hit by a vehicle that did not stop the march.

Teófilo Gauto (37) was run over in Misiones.

When the agents arrived at the scene, they found that Teófilo Gauto (37) and his partner, Mirta Isabel Benítez (34), mother of three girls, were dead.

Both lived in the Mbya Perutí village, in the town of El Alcázar, where the man worked as a sanitary agent.

The couple was traveling to the north of the province in a Zanella 150 and was hit from behind near the access to Colonia Luján.

It was later established that, just over a kilometer from the crash site, a white Fiat Iveco truck had been abandoned, with damage to the front and blood stains.

The patent established that the transport was registered in the name of a bank because it was still in love.

It was impossible for the Police to detect the owner and the driver because

the truck was insured in the name of a provincial legislator

and the Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV) had been issued in the name of another person.

The car that was guarding a truck on its route along Route 12.

From the analysis of the different security cameras, it was established that the truck left Posadas and made a stop at Jardín América to load fuel.

There the driver got out to talk on the phone for several minutes.

The investigators resorted to the images of other cameras of the own force and thus they were able to establish that a Chevrolet Astra acted as “pointer” of the Iveco in its fast trip towards the provincial north.

This methodology is used by drug gangs when they are preparing to move a load of marijuana from the coast of the Paraná River to the collection centers.

A vehicle is sent to the front to alert about possible controls by the Gendarmerie and the Prefecture.

Two arrested in the case of the couple hit by a truck in Misiones.

The agents who have been working on the case for a month are convinced that that night

the Iveco had to pick up some cargo

and the two occupants of the Astra had the mission of "sweeping" the area in search of possible patrols of the federal forces.

In addition to obtaining all the data from the Chevrolet Astra, the security cameras provided the faces of its occupants.

The investigating judge of Puerto Rico, Leonardo Manuel Balanda Gómez,

ordered the arrest

and search of their properties this Tuesday.

The men, aged 35 and 32, one of whom is Paraguayan, were charged with a cover-up of "

manslaughter

."

One of the men was arrested at the access roundabout to Montecarlo and the other at his home in the Municipal district of Caraguatay.

The car, meanwhile, was located in a Monte Carlo workshop.

Two arrested in the case of the couple hit by a truck in Misiones.

Justice already has in its possession the cell phones of the detainees.

Through an expert opinion, it will be possible to establish the contacts they had on the day of the event and through the geolocation system which were their movements before and after the accident.
