Whirlpool confirms that the reasons that led the company to start the collective dismissal procedure in mid-July for the workers at the Naples plant "have not changed" and says it is available "to listen to any proposals" and "to support the workers" .
It is learned while the table convened by the Ministry of Labor is underway, in agreement with the Mise and the Campania region, with the company, Invitalia and the trade unions.
The trade unions ask to suspend the procedure, which expires at the end of the month, and to the government to set up a concrete project for the resumption of production at the via Argine site.
"Yet another demonstration and, we hope, not yet another empty lap. Because today we are not satisfied. We need to block the procedure, prevent the day, September 29, in which, if nothing happens, the company can send the letters of dismissal ". This was stated by Barbara Tibaldi, Fiom national secretary, during the Whirlpool workers' demonstration at Mise. "The government - according to Tibaldi - must finally answer for the work that announces so much in the newspapers. The tragedies, the closures of companies, the hypotheses in their protection cannot be the subject of an electoral campaign". "We want to see - concluded Tibaldi - what they have worked on, we want to see the solution that has been announced in the newspapers. We ask that the dismissal procedure be suspended".
