The start of the school year looked uncertain.
And yet, the epidemic is still tending to decline in France.
So much so that the Élysée has announced that it is thinking, with caution, about adapting the restrictions put in place, in particular that of the health pass.
This Friday again, the figures give hope.
The health authorities are again reporting a slight drop in the total number of hospitalizations and Covid-19 patients treated in critical care services.
According to the latest figures, 9,070 patients are currently hospitalized due to infection with Covid or its variants, against 9,297 on Thursday and 10,115 a week earlier.
During this fourth wave, the peak reached 11,245 hospital patients on August 30.
Among the patients followed at the hospital, 1,891 are now treated this Friday in critical care services (resuscitation, continuous monitoring and intensive care), against 1,952 Thursday and 2,151 a week ago.
The 50 million first-time vaccinated milestone reached
In addition, Public Health France also reports the death of 66 people as a result of Covid-19 over the last 24 hours, against 65 the day before.
These data bring the total toll to 115,962 deaths in France since the start of the epidemic.
Finally, the pace of vaccinations is progressing, albeit at a less sustained level than in previous weeks. This Friday, however, the Head of State announced on Twitter that France had just passed the 50 million mark for first-time vaccines.
