With this recipe, you can easily bake classic pastries yourself.

Anyone can bake cakes and muffins. But with some classics you don't even think about making them yourself. Are you

feeling

like that with

nut wedges

? Then you should just try the following recipe. You will see: even homemade, the delicious corners with chocolate coating and jam can easily keep up with any pastry chef. The principle is not difficult at all. You prepare a dough, on top of which is a jam layer (apricot is common, but be creative and use your favorite jam) and of course the nut mass that gives it its name. All of this goes on the baking sheet and is baked. Then it's time to cut the nut corners: first into squares, then into triangles. And the corners are then covered in

melted chocolate

dipped.

If that doesn't sound good ...

Simply make delicious nut wedges yourself: the recipe will do the trick

  • Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat or 160 ° C circulating air.

    Grease a baking sheet well.

  • For the dough,

knead the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs together.

Mix the flour and baking powder separately, then knead them with the rest of the dough.

  • Roll out the smooth dough using a rolling pin.

Then place it on the baking sheet.

Spread the apricot jam evenly on the dough.

  • For the topping,

melt the butter in a saucepan and add sugar and vanilla sugar.

Also add some water and the nuts.

Mix all the topping ingredients well into a moist mass and then spread this on the dough.

  • Bake the nut wedges in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.

Then let the pastries cool down a little and cut everything into squares.

Halve these again over the corners, so that triangles are created.

    Let these cool down completely.

  • Now the

    couverture

    comes

into play: Chop it into large pieces and melt it over a hot water bath.

Dip the edges or the pointed ends of the nut corners in the liquid chocolate, if you like.

Place the finished nut wedges on baking paper and let them dry.

  • Prepare the day before

You can prepare the nut wedges the day before and let the chocolate set overnight.

It is better not to put the corners in the refrigerator, but let them dry slowly.

That way, the chocolate icing also stays shiny.
